As the summer closes more and more customers will be looking to purchase SUV’s in preparation for the winter months. You may be in for a big surprise if you think prices have dipped. The cash for clunkers program has created a shortage of SUV’s out on the market; with fewer people buying new last year that created a shortage used vehiles on the market.

Edmunds.com reports that the retail price paid for a used Cadillac Escalade, averaged over all model years, was $34,715cq last month, up 36cq percent from the average price paid a year earlier. The retail price paid for a used Dodge Grand Caravan in July, averaged over all model years, was $15,629cq, up 34cq percent.

Joe Spinacq, Edmunds.com senior analyst, says a lack of confidence in the economy is driving more people to buy used vehicles. That puts upward pressure on prices of an already limited supply of used vehicles……..

The average wholesale used-vehicle price in July was $10,060cq, ADESA says. That was 2.2cq percent lower than the average price in June 2010cq and less than 1 0.4cq percent higher than the average price in July 2009cq……

The monthly Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index stood at 118.9cq in July, down from 120.2cq in the previous month but up from 115.4cq in July 2009cq. The index is adjusted for make, model mix and time of year…..

The 2011Audi A8 has been unveiled and its a pretty one although its not as bulky as the older models and has gone through a few minor changes in the body and the sleek interior.  As many Audi fans wait for this vehicle there are two versions that will be released. The extended wheelbase and the normal wheel base which is to some more of a drivers car.  Here is an snippet of some of the features this new Audi has to offer.

The A8 NWB V8 is powered by a 4.2-liter FSI V8 that makes 372 horsepower and 328 pound-feet of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic. Audi says the car will sprint from zero to 60 mph in less than 5.7 seconds and is expected to deliver 15-percent better fuel economy than its predecessor. All-wheel drive is standard, and a sport differential is optional.

The new model features driver-selectable settings for suspension, steering, throttle, transmission and cornering lights. Among the available driver-assistance technologies are adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, night vision with infrared thermal imaging and pedestrian detection, lane- and side-assist technology and automatic emergency braking.

The 2011 A8 also has a standard Bose surround-sound audio system, as well as an optional Bang & Olufsen advanced system with 1,400 watts and 19 speakers.

The new Aston Martin Rapide will be turing alot more heads next year when they make the base model under 200k. This should help boost sales within the luxury industry, but at 200k lets hope anyone can get financing for that.

Aston Martin has set the base price for the Rapide in the United States at $199,950.

The New 2010 Rapide will be a little more afforable

 

For just less than $200,000, you’ll get a Bang & Olufsen sound system, heated memory seats and an active suspension system. Of course, there will be options that push the sticker price above the $200,000 mark.

Under the hood is a 6.0-liter V12 rated at 470 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

The four-door Rapide arrives in dealerships next spring, but you can place your order now. The car will be built at Graz, Austria
